A good night in the Quayside of Belmullet but woke to heavy cloud and fine rain. Had breakfast and used the continental style facilities to dump our waste and fill with water. We have done 10 nights now with no electric and the last half dozen stops have been free or a donation.
Bit of a sketchy plan as to where we end up by later today but first we’re off to Aldi, just down the road, to get some food supplies. Then make our way to Keem Beach on the island of Achil where the Banshees of Inisherin was filmed. Also the former home of basking shark fishing.
It also had a little trailer van selling food and drinks so we indulged in a portion of chips with a pot of garlic mayo (mayo in county mayo 😁) with a hot chocolate and sat and ate on a bench by the beach. The garlic mayo was superb, the hot chocolate less so.
After our beach lunch we continued on to the town of Westport where we had read there was parking for the night in the town. What a lovely town with shops and pubs and we managed to park up for the night and have a wander around the town.
