1 Night

Carrefour Dieppe

We said our goodbyes and left my Mum in the New Forest (her home, not some random woods) and made our way to Newhaven Port for what was supposed to be an overnight stay in car park, followed by a 11am Thursday sailing to Dieppe.

This all changed when we arrived around 3pm and thought we would see if there was a chance of catching an earlier ferry, as the weather was turning wet and windy.  There was a 11pm sailing available, so we decided to go for it, although that would mean we would be travelling the 4 hour crossing and arriving in Dieppe at around 4am.

The crossing was a bit bouncy, but we grabbed a coffee, found the comfy seats and tried to get some sleep.

4 hours seemed to pass quickly, we managed to get some sleep and soon disembarked into a dark and wet Dieppe. No searches, and our turkey remained in the freezer. No signs off EES checks, just the usual passport check.

What was left of the night we spent in the local Carrefour car park.
