1 Night
So last night was a wet and turbulent one, I thought I’d never sleep. We woke fairly early with light rain after the deluge overnight. We had breakfast and made our way to the base of Y Garn, the mountain we planned to climb.
Protected with waterproof trousers and jackets we set off. Despite cars in the carpark we did not see a soul. A very picturesque climb at 947m above sea level.
We reached the summit, which did not have a trig point, and there sat a man and his dog. After a quick chat, we sat and had our roll and coffee. The mist was descending and obscuring the view but we did find a few patches of blue sky and managed a few pictures. At one point we saw a jet fly through the mountains but I was not quick enough to take a photo.
The descent was swift and by this time the sun was out so we removed the waterproofs. We arrived at the centre and had a coffee and cake. What a great morning.
We walked back to the van and headed for Betws-y-coed for a bit of shopping and dinner.
