Lyn Ogwen Layby

Our night in the layby was cosy and sheltered but not from the noise from traffic of the A55 that run close by.

Our destination today was the coastal town of Llandudno. Llandudno is a coastal town in north Wales. Known for it’s North Shore Beach and 19th-century Pier and  Great Orme headland jut into the sea which we initially set out to stay at.

It turned out to be a wash day and we parked up in Llandudno town for a launderette close by.

The rain held off for the morning while we put the washing in and went for a coffee while we waited for it to finish. Then back to the laundry and into the dryer then returned to Priscilla for lunch.

By this time it had started to drizzle and our plans shifted from a night on the Great Orme to a layby, to back in the wilderness, just outside  Betws-y-coed, a popular tourist destination set in the Snowdonia park.

The drive here was scenic but mostly in torrential rain and extremely low cloud. Hopefully the weather will improve for tomorrows walk up Y Garn (947m).
