An overcast and windy day today but still warm. The site we are in was packed by the end of the day yesterday but soon cleared out this morning.

Last night we had ordered a khobz (Moroccan bread) from, Latifa, the man who comes round selling stuff on a scooter but by 10am it hadn’t arrived so we thought we’d got it wrong and had Weetabix, yoghurt, the usual. Then as we were about to go and explore the town he turned up looking apologetic. He had forgotten us and was gesturing we have it for free. We paid him and ordered a tagine for 7pm tonight.

We walked into the town. The main street was busy mostly with locals. There are lots of pharmacies and banks. This town also has lots of car, scooter repair places. These are basic with a small frontage and all the mechanical work seems to get carried out in the street.

We crossed over, walked along the other side of the street and down to the sea front. There were men selling oysters and crabs next to what looked like their small fishing boats.

During the walk back a stray dog joined us and followed us all the way back to the van where it sat down, in front of the van.

Tomorrow we’re moving on towards Essaouira and we run out of motorway so bumpy roads the rest of the way south.

Just had the tagine, delivered by our man on the scooter. Excellent. Left overs for the dog.
