Laguna Park Camping
Ouailida
Morocco
2 Nights
We left L’Ocean Blue early this morning for the town of Ouilida, further south on the coast. On route stopping off at a Carrefour in El Jadida. This turned out to be a big city and the Carrefour was in the middle of it, making for a hairy drive with huge mad roundabouts. The Carrefour was in the middle of a shopping centre and happened to sell alcohol, so we stocked up on beer and wine all at a reasonable price.
Leaving El Jadida, the satnav took us along small rough and bumpy roads along the coast, through a huge industrial area with what looked like oil refineries, we could see lots tankers anchored off shore. As we drove through the towns and villages, young children waved at us as they walked home from school along a busy road with lorrys on, no pavements.
Gas must be a main source of power here as there are loads of old rusty and dented gas bottles at the sides of the roads, in shops, outside houses and you see small trucks transporting them.
We went through the town of Ouilida arriving at our site and booked in for two nights. We plan to walk back to the town tomorrow.
