L’Esprit Nature

We left Laguna Park Camping, said goodbye to the man on the scooter that brought us bread and tagine, we think he’s name is Latifa and he wants to be posted on the internet so Jo put him on twitter (X).

We stopped off at a Shell garage in the town as they sold adblue and I bought a container of 10ltrs for 200MAD. I’m mindful that the further south we go it might become scarce.

We took the motorway up to Safi which is where the motorway ends so then it was all N roads, which are fine and takes you through the smaller towns which is an experience in itself. More people seem to be travelling in horse and cart the further south we go. Children are fascinated by our presence and wave as we drive past.

We turned off of the N road for the last mile or so and onto what I think is a P road. This road, which took us up to the campsite was the roughest road we have ever driven on. It was made up of ridges and we could only manage about 12kph or I think we would have shaken the van to bits.

L’Esprit Nature Campsite is a very nice site, owned by a French couple, set in a rural area and very quiet.

Tomorrow we have booked a taxi to take us into Essaouira, about a 20min drive.
