We must have had a good sleep as we went to bed early and woke up just gone 10pm, thinking it was the early hours of the morning.
Woke for the dawn call for prayer, just before 7am. I think they’ve had bigger speakers fitted since we were last here, as it’s louder and super clear. None the less we turned over, and soon went back to sleep.
We still hadn’t shook the rain off but I took a morning stroll over to the beach then quickly back for breakfast.
The water pump was pulsing, maybe the new filter was the cause so I started to tinker with it when the Frenchman in the pitch next to us, managed to get stuck in the mud. I went over to assit, along with the Dutchman opposite, and after much wheel spining, shouting and bits and bobs under his drive wheels, he was out. Only to then get himsref stuck again. This time I just watched as some other reinforcements came and he was soon on the move agsin.
Priscilla does seem to get a lot of attention, and a German couple, in an overland vehicle had asked yesterday, if they could look around Priscilla, as they were thinking of downsizing.
We spent some time with them showing off our electrical system, suspension and compost toilet, and some chat about where we were heading next.
Guided tour completed we made our way into town, to buy some supplies. We had only just got down the road and heading towards us was AN XTURA! …Could Priscilla have done a runner? No it was Jane & Roger, who had bought an Xtura before us and we had had some communication with over the interwaves.
In town we bought eggs, chicken and cumin for our evening celebrations, and bread for lunch, and got back just in time before the rain started.
We had not long finished lunch when Roger came round to invite us for drinks. We skated out of our muddy pitch and around to Jane and Rogers for a pre New Years Eve drink.
Back at Priscilla we had our new years eve chicken curry Jo had prepared earlier and a drink or two …then the party began!
Happy New Year 🥳
