1 Night

Rinville Harbour

It was such a quiet spot last night in the car park opposite the pub that we had a right lay in but still managed to be on the road by 10.  The sun was shining and it looks promising for a lovely day.

We hadn’t had breakfast and planned to find a better spot as although it was quiet the view where not up to our usual high standard. We were on a set of islands linked by causeways so we drove further afield but our first place had a height barrier so we turned around and carried on a few miles to Cartron harbour a small fishing village where we devoured bacon and egg rolls.

Carrying on, our plan of stopping tonight in the station car park in Galway didn’t work out as there was no spaces and little chance of getting one. Galway is a busy city and after some of the remote locations we have stayed this seemed a little too populated so we left in search of something quieter.

Getting out of Galway was a bit of a nightmare but we eventually ended up just around the bay at Rinville harbour. The sun is shining and there are swarms of brave wild swimmers of all ages getting into the water. There is also a mobile sauna which people go in and out of after a swim.

Tomorrow we leave the Wild Atlantic Way for the day to explore The Burren.
