We awoke to the sound of chickens clucking away just outside, had breakfast and set off down the road and along the coastal path to the Giants Causeway.
A well cared for path took us along an impressive rugged coastline with a handful of other walkers coming in the opposite direction. Around 4 miles and the path drops down to the sea where we found the Giants Causeway. A series of rock formations comprising of hundreds of hexagonal columns rising from the cliff base and the Irish Sea.
We climbed up some of these hexagonal shaped rocks to get closer and this is when I took a tumble, slicing the top off my finger. After patching up with tissue we had lunch consisting of ham rolls we had made earlier and a packet of crisps. The foil from the rolls then further wrapped around my finger so that it resembled a chicken drumstick.
After lunch we walked further along the coast and up to a hotel for a cuppa before our return route.
By the time we got back to the van it was hot and sunny and Jo did a wash, patched my finger up proper and had a cup of tea in the sunshine.
Another BBQ tonight and tomorrow we move on and cross the border to Ireland.
