Buncranna Town Aire

It was a glorious sunny morning that turned out to be like a hot summers day as we left Feigh farm, drove along the coastal route towards the boarder with Ireland. Through Londonderry and into Muff you would not know you had crossed the boarder apart from the signs change to KMH, and here we start the Wild Atlantic Way. A 1600 mile coastal route that for us ends in Kinsale. You can of course do it in either direction.

Our first stop was Malin Head, Irelands most northerly point.  Probably best known for reports on the shipping forecast. With limited parking, we pulled over and had a quick lunch, then walked up to the tower.

Whilst the WAW is well signposted, south and North, it’s not impossible to inadvertently leave the trail at some point. We finished todays destination at an aire in Buncrana, which resembles a continental aire and costs €10 per night.

We walked up to the town and bought a baguette and a cooked chicken for dinner. Once finished, we took a walk up to the local beach where everyone was swimming as its still 21 degrees. John had a paddle.

Tomorrow we continue.
