Schull Harbour

Jo had a rough night last night, after not feeling too good yesterday evening but we still made our way round to Sheeps Head and as far as we could go in the van up to a tiny park up where the sign said camper vans could go no further.  Not sure why as we had driven less suitable roads but we adhered to the sign.

Then a 2 mile walk along to where the road  finished, then a further mile on rough footpath to the steps down (and up) to Sheeps Head lighthouse. Not the most impressive if lighthouses but the Mizen Head lighthouse with its much photographed bridge is shut for maintenance so this was our last chance to get to this far south west part of Ireland. And as ever the views were fantastic and the weather was reasonable.

Then a 3 mile walk back to the van and Jo decided to take a covid test while I made a cupa and ham roll. This turned out to be positive and we decided not to stay the night here and move further on, to the town of Shull, pronounced Skull.

Parked up at the small harbour here and calling it an early night.
