Very hot day today, it peaked at over 30 degrees C, and just the day to walk around one of the biggest markets in Morocco.
First, we had promised to go back to the shop next to Garage Iriki where Jo had popped/dragged in yesterday. We ended up buying a few trinkets and fell for some rather more expensive pieces, but we managed to walk away from them, at least for now.
Next stop was the market, which is in an area of wasteland on the edge of town. We bought some fruit, nuts and spices. Stopped off at one of the food stalls for a lovely no frills lunch, then made our way back into town, where we went into the meat halls to get chicken, mince and sausages.
We stopped off for a coffee before heading back to shelter from the sun. It was very hot by then.
This evening we had dinner in the “restaurant”, which is more like sitting in a Berber tent, I guess that’s the idea. We were the only ones in there, but the food was good, with a soup for a starter, kofta tagine, followed by a bowl of fruit.
