We were going to head directly south and through or around Madrid, but the hugely confusing, impossible emissions restrictions made us decide, sorry Madrid, you’re a lovely city, but we will be giving you a miss.
Travel is certainly getting more complicated and restricted, without taking into account the cost of it. Fuel, tolls, emissions stickers.
Onwards and downwards, towards what ended up to be the town if Alaejos, a municipality located in the province of Valladolid. We covered 338 miles over 7 hours and shot up in elevation as we travelled over the Pyrenees into Spain.
We parked up in a free Aire in the town with two other motorhomes. Had a walk around the area and ventured into a local bar for a couple of drinks before returning for dinner. It’s turned colder. The temperatures went from 17 degrees as we entered Spain to 7 degrees, so we could be in for a cold night.
