1 Night
Another good night up on the Rhigos road despte the wind and heavy rain, although it did die down in the night.
We had breakfast and took a drive out to Henrhyd Falls. The tallest waterfall in southern Wales, with a drop of 90 feet. Yes everything is tallest, highest around here …they are very competitive. A short but steep and precariously slippery trek down to the falls which were part of the filming in the Dark Knight, Batman film. You could even get behnd the falls so we took a turn with one taking the photos the other testing the waterproof credentials of our rai. coats.
We left the falls for a Tesco in Ystradgynlais, yes what a name. While we were shopping the heavens opened a we thought it would burst through the Tesco roof.
A quick dash across a flooded car park back to a waiting Priscilla and packed the shop (wine) away, then made a ham roll while we decided were to go next.
All this a part of vague planning as it’s known and we decided to go to a pub park up for the night, then a rugby club then the grounds of a ruined castle.
We took the “scenic” route which really turned out to be village or town after town with the much spoken about 20 mph limits. It seemed that Priscilla was the only one doing 20 mph with a trail of Welsh behind her.
The castle turned out to be a great spot with only us here as we write this and it being Friday it was beer and wine and so far nothing too spooky 🎃
