1 Night
After saying goodbye to our South Korean neighbours, we set off through the Ziz Gorge to Midelt. We even went through a tunnel in the mountains which is the first we have seen in Morocco. The journey took us over the Atlas Mountains where we saw snow on the high summits.
We arrived at the Municiple site in the centre of this large town. A typical municiple site, rough around the edges but had a good level hard standing. There was a Scotish guy, Stewart, had a caravan on site, who appeared to be helping out there. Although he had a caravan, he had no car.
After a coffee we wandered into the town. It’s a modern looking town for Moroccan standards. We did’t find overly need anything to buy although there was a shop selling booze but we didn’t buy any of that either.
We came back and discused moving pitch but Stewart told us there were a group of Germans coming and the rest of the pitches were reserved. Then the influx of Germans began filling up the rest of the site.
We sat by the reception talking to Stewart and using the wifi while watching more vans pour in. No one gets turned away, every 100 dirhams counts.
Tomorrow we head for the Morocco’s second largest city Fes.
