Fossils of Serdrar

As turns out, I have had data added my phone and we get the rest some sort of installments. Only time will tell but so far, apart from the poor internet here, we are connected.

As far as the weather goes, it’s always the same, chilly in the morning and by about 11 it’s like a hot summers day in UK, with not a cloud in the sky.

Our man here Ibrahim told us to head for between the two mountains as we walked from the site, which made sense rather than climbing over them, so that’s what we did.

During our walk we noticed fossils in the rocks as we walked but wasn’t sure what they were. After about 4 or 5 miles we came across a small oasis in the palm trees with a camp and some camels but no water. A little further there was an area that looked looked like a small quarry, where they where extracting fossils and turning them into artifacts and flooring or tiles. We spoke with the man there who told us the fossils were squid and octopus like creatures and turtles from billions of years ago, when the desert was a sea bed. We bought a couple of small items from him and set off back to the van.

After a hot 4 or so miles we got back rather relieved and ready for a cup of tea.
