Camping L’Ocean Blue

Moved on today further south, to a camp site just outside Casablanca, Ocean Blue Camping. It was very hot, 29° by the time we arrived.

Our route south about 60 miles and most of it was on motorway. We drove through a couple of towns which are madness, you need eyes everywhere. So many people walking in the road and few times we had a horse and cart heading straight for us.

The young lady at the site was lovely and spoke great English. We pitched up, Jo put the bed clothes in the wash and we had lunch under the awning to shade us from the sun.

After lunch we took a walk along the sea front to the Carrefour to get some supplies.

One odd thing, well not odd for here but it amused me. I was sitting outside the van chilling and this fella approached me with something in his hand and muttering something. It turned out he wanted to flog us windscreen wipers. I said no thanks in my finest Arabic but he came closer thrusting the wipers in my direction while what I believe was telling me these were of superior rubber.  Anyway I think I convinced him we didn’t need wipers today as he left me alone.

And then there’s the chickens. I’m sitting here writing this and there are 11 chickens and a cockerel 4 foot in front of me, and the cockerel us giving me the eye. Wait till I get the BBQ out, that’ll scare them off.

Oh and the wiper man had just come back.
