It’s hot today, around 24°C but feels hotter. I’m tempted to go in the swimming pool but when I put my big toe in it yesterday it was freezing.
After the routine breakfast we took a walk along the beach. There was a guy leading some camels and a few surfers, the waves here are pretty high. As usual lots of dogs and cats roaming about or dogs sunning on the beach. We went in search of bread and found a small shop selling them. Paid 5 MAD (Moroccan Dirhams) for 4, which is about 40p. They are round things called Khobz, which I think is Arabic for bread. They are very tastey and we think these will be our version of the French baguette while we are here.
We sat in the sun when we got back, had cheese and Khobz with a cup of tea (English). It was very hot indeed by then.
This evening we went out for dinner. The sea front was buzzing with locals sitting on chairs on the beach, playing football. We found a restaurant on the sea front called Merzouga, which is the name of a town in the Sahara. The food was excellent. I had burger and chips, Jo had calamari and chips, a mint tea each with 4 small Khobz accompanied by dips, cost 191 mad (just over £15). A good night out on the town 😃
