We woke to the wind and rain. Summer seems to be over. Had a shower in the sites facilities, had breakfast and we were off. Destination Rowlands Gill just outside Newcastle city centre. Good journey up the A1(M) and arrived just before 1pm. Rough around the edges kinda place with lots of full time caravans. In fact I think we were the only tourers. We settled in, had a cupa and then explored in foot, find the fish & chip shop for later and the bus stop into Newcastle for tomorrow.

Fish and chips was very good. Rain on and off but not cold. Internet reception here is really poor and the is no wifi. The lack of G’s on these tours is the biggest frustration.

Next day got the number 47 bus into Newcastle. Excellent value at £8 return for two.

Wednesday 20th September
On the bus to Newcastle City centre for a day of grandparenting. Took the kids to the Discovery Museum.  What a great place this was to spend a day with the kids and free entry too. Walk back to th hotel they were staying at for a drink and dinner and then navigated our way to the bus stop to get back to the site.
