Slept like a log after a full days grandparenting. Temperature had a big nose dive to only 8 degrees so shoved the Webasto on for a bit to warm up. Left the site in the direction of a local Morrisons but this turned out to be mainly a fuel station so refuelled and made for nearby Lidl. Quick shop and next stop at the Angel of the North for a wander around this magnificent structure. Carried on our way to Town End Farm only an hour or so away.
Friday, 22nd September
Got the bus from just outside the site to Saltburn by Sea. Walked along the front and along the pier before getting a coffee and cake. Walked back 8 miles along the Cleveland Way, a great walk.
Saturday, 23rd September
A walk out onto the Cleveland Way again this time towards Staithes. A lovely little town with a fishing harbour. We timed it just right to get a table at the Cod & Lobster for lunch where we both had the signature dish. The walk back began with an ice cream and down pour but this soon stopped and we dried out for the rest of the walk back stopping off at the nearby farm shop for eggs and milk.
