Our time at Lac Bleu, Annecy was over, and the site, location, weather had all been good to us but we were now on the move to our next destination.
Just past the town on Lanslebourg-Mont-Cenis is a lake just after the col, with a parking spot for motorhomes. Looked good on the map and what i had seen online. Just short of the Italian boarder that we would cross the following day.
Now i had done some research on this as far as the roads was concerned. Our outfit is not small but generally you can get through most things but I wasn’t up to making it big challenge. It was just a matter of enjoying he scenic view and a nice interesting drive. The alternative to this is the Frejus tunnel but you don’t see much going through a tunnel and it was rather expensive for an outfit our size. Also we are on a no toll mission.
A hot day but all was good until we hit a diversion just before Modane. This took us through some pretty tiny streets in and some very tight and steep hairpins. At one point bottoming out. Minor damage to a rear cross member that now has a gouge in it.
Worth it though for the end result was a great spot right on the edge of Lac Mont Cenis.
