1 Night
A pretty impressive sunrise this morning, just as we opened the blinds. The wind had picked up, and there was a fair amount of cloud, but it was warm.
After a rather complicated exchange in English, Arabic, and Berber, we agreed on the amount to pay for our stay and last night’s meal.
We seem to have a mutual connection here, which makes it exceptionally nice. This is not a campsite, it’s not wild camping, this is where you are welcomed to someone’s home, their land.
We paid, hugged, Jo gave her homemade gifts to the ladies and colouring books to the children, and went back to Pricilla for the off. Before we managed to get away, the lady came knocking at the door and gave us a warm loaf of Moroccan bread, Kohbz.
The drive today was all on 100 miles of very good tarmac, so it gave Priscilla a good stretch of her cylinders. We managed a safe, no speeding 60mph for a good while, but there was a good amount of sand in the air, even went through a bit of a sandstorm.
We arrived at a very busy Camping La Palmerei, in Foum Zguid. Managed to get a spot and settled in.
Dinner was chicken skewers, veg and chips. We seem to have a craving for chips of late. They even did wine and beer, so that was a bonus.
