Rimal Tata Camping

1 Night
We had several choices today. Stay in, enjoy the sunshine, move onwards and stop off a Foum Zguid, or return to a favourite of ours, Rimal Tata, just 10 miles south in Oum El Guerdane.
We decided on Rimal Tata. It’s a very simple place with little in the way of facilities. Set in a remote and dusty area with Berber tents. No formal layout, and both times we have stayed, we have been the only ones here. Quiet and peaceful with lovely owners who are super welcoming.
The place is run by Zara, who we met on our last visit, but today we were welcomed by her mother and a younger guy. They asked if we wanted tagine, and we accepted one for later.
We set up camp and enjoyed the hot sun for a while before it got too hot so we moved into the shade. Zara’s mother called Jo over to the rear of where we were sitting, where a young lad and Zara’s mum were mixing up some cement and mud mix.
It turned out they were making a bread oven. They had piled some rocks up into a small dome shape, then covered them in wet cardboard, and on top of this went the mud and cement mix.
It then all became a joint affair, mixing and plastering the mix onto the rocks and cardboard, until we decided we would leave them to it, and went back to worshipping the sun with a beer.
The evening meal was the tagine we had ordered, arriving late as always, but no problem. There was a rather nice soup for a starter and finished off with a plate of fruit.
Then back to Priscilla to catch up on some YouTube.
