Lac Buclet

A slightly later start than usual this morning, as some of the team had decided to get the washing done first!

Washing done, we jumped on the bikes and set off for another day exploring the Oisans valley.

Our first stop was Lac Bleu, before continuing on to the Cascade de la Pisse. Getting to the waterfall turned out to be a bit more adventurous than expected, involving clambering over some huge boulders left by a landslide. Definitely worth the effort though, with the waterfall making a pretty spectacular reward at the end.

By now we’d worked we were getting hungry, so it was time to find somewhere for lunch. We stopped beside Lac Buclet, which made a perfect spot to sit, eat and enjoy the mountain scenery.

And with the temperatures still high, there was only one thing to do afterwards … a dip in the lake! An excellent cool off before getting back on the bikes.

From there we headed back towards Bourg-d’Oisans, following a fantastic cycle path through the valley. We stopped in Bourg for a well-earned beer 🍺 before making the final ride back to base camp.

Another cracking day — bikes, mountains, waterfalls, lakes, swimming and beer.

The next two, and final days here are forecast to be very wet.
