This morning we set off on the bikes and headed for the cable car at Allemond. From there, Amanda & Steven and Alison & Shaun took the more relaxed option and headed up into the mountains by cable car, eventually making it all the way to Pic Blanc at 3,300 metres.
Jo and I, decided it was time to give the Estarli e-bikes a proper test and ride up to Vaujany.
And what a test! The electric assist on these bikes is fantastic and made what would normally be a pretty serious Alpine climb feel almost easy. We were seriously impressed with them.
Once in Vaujany, we rode around to find the ski villa where we stayed back in 2014, long before our van adventures began.
After that, we treated ourselves to a coffee at a rather swanky hotel before pointing the bikes downhill and riding back towards Allemond. It’s still incredibly hot here, so for once the rush of air on the long descent was very welcome!
Back at base camp, it was time for the slightly less glamorous side of travelling — putting a load of washing on. 😂
