Carrefour Car Park
After five nights at our Christmas home in Tarifa, it was time to move on.
The wate tank was running low and we felt we’d well and truly “done” Tarifa. We had a few chores to do before leaving town. First up was the fuel station where we’d done the washing, to top up with LPG. Then it was further down the road for AdBlue. Ours was still just over half full, but as it’s scarce in Morocco, we played it safe and also picked up an extra 10-litre container. The final stop was another fuel station to refill our water tank.
From there, it was only a short hop to our next overnight stop: a car park in Palmones. It’s officially a village, but in reality it feels more like a retail park. We stayed here on our last Moroccan adventure too, mainly because it’s close to the port of Algeciras and has a large Carrefour — perfect for stocking up on supplies before crossing over.
And then there’s the weather. It’s been pouring with rain all day and looks set to continue tomorrow. We’ve even had thunder and lightning.
