We woke up to a sunrise over Seville, but the day quickly became eventful. We accidentally spilt our drinking water by the bed, soaking the mattress and the garage below.
Later, arriving in Tarifa, as it was getting dark, we tried to turn on the lights, but none of the interior lights worked. We also found that the outside step wouldn’t retract, even after starting the engine, which it usually does automatically. Since we had just begun dinner, it wasn’t the best time to troubleshoot. We pulled several fuses and rebooted the control panel, but no luck. We sent a message to other Xtura owners and soon received a reply from Neil, who advised shutting down the entire 12V system and restarting it. Bingo, thanks Neil, the lights were back on and working.
The drive was a good one, sun was shining all the way and we watched the temperatures rise, although not as much as we would have liked. Shorter distance today, only about 150 miles, giving us time to park up in Tarifa and do a bit of Christmas food shopping in Lidl. We are parked in what is really a bit of dusty wasteland on the outskirts of town with numerous vans of shapes and sizes and nationalities. Views of the sea and over the straits of Gibraltar to Morocco.
We will probably settle here now until after Christmas.
