Return to Palmones

After yesterdays events we ended up having a few beverages and a late night so slept well at our favorite Palmones car park.

We had breakfast then we had a go at fixing the skylight. I managed to get on the roof by climbing on the table then onto Jo’s shoulders and through the open skylight. We spent a couple of hours or so trying to lock it shut, dismanteling bits, springs pinging off as I did, only making things worse, so in the end resorted to good old Gorilla tape to hold it shut. Then I had to get down from the roof, so by sliding down the A pillar and again onto Jo’s shoulders in an almost piggy back fashion. Any onlookers must have thought this was some British traditional way to begin a Sunday.

We then took the van to the van wash place down the road for a clean up and top up the LPG. Even that was not without its issues as I could’t get the Spanish connector to work so had to get the lady in the kiosk to help, who was lovely and locked up the till and came out to help me.

Gased up and van washed to a fashion, we made our way back to our car park and had lunch in the KFC nearby. Then sat in the sun for the afternoon, bit windy but warm and sunny. The two vans next door are Romanian and one guy came and asked us if we wanted some of the Hungarian goulash they had made. We explained we had pigged out on the KFC, so we got a pan and he filled it for later.

Tomorrow we will do a shop in Carrefour before moving along the coast for a few days.
