Camping International Mehdia

2 Nights
The call to prayer woke us up at 7am, a bit later today so they must have had a lay in. The call to prayer happens 5 times a day but I think the times vary.
We left Asilah and headed further south along the coast to Mehdya, a seaside town about 30 miles north of Rabat. It’s a seaside town and there’s a Moroccan Air Force airbase nearby but the planes don’t seem to be that frequent so no bother.
The journey here was all on motorway and the roads are quiet and surface good. It’s when you come off the motorway and get into the town the fun starts. We came across three police check points but all waved us through. The police are very well presented in their uniform. The first lot as we came off the motorway were all in white. I was mindful of the speed limits and stopping at the stop signs, much to the annoyance of the locals, who just overtake you on whatever side suits them. And the amount of plastic littered about is unbelievable. It is everywhere and its mainly plastic drinking water bottles of 1 and even 5 litres.
We have now checked into a site for 2 nights and done some washing and even managed to sit by the pool for a bit, so tomorrow we will explore the area more.
