Castle Howard Camping

A very windy night with the van rocking meant that we didn’t have the best nights sleep. Two cups of tea, packed up and we made way to a breakfast stop off right in the middle of the North York moors at Blakey Ridge. The idea being that we would have a full cooked breakfast overlooking the moors. In reality we had a great cooked breakfast of bacon, baked beans, egg etc but the view was non existant as it was covered in mist and you couldn’t see much further than your nose.

Breakfast devoured and and quick walk around in the mist we were off again to Castle Howard camp site. Nice little site set in the grounds of the magnificent Castle Howard.

We were treated to a gorgeous day for a long walk to Castle Howard. 5 miles to to front door and had lunch in the café. Then a walk around the gardens.
