Very bloody
early get up this morning for the 07.10 ferry from Dover to Calais. Only six miles miles to the port but we still
let at 5am so up at a sharp 04.30!
Slight delay getting out the field as it was into a single track land
and the tree overhang meant we couldn’t make it a left turn and we’d started so
had to reverse and go right. Got pulled into the shed for a van frisk down by a
single security operative who clearly didn’t feel comfortable doing it, or
didn’t want to do it. Was more
interested in my Duval glass and the bathroom configuration than anything else.
The rest of
the ferry process was a piece of cake with no checks at all the other side and
we was very soon on our way in France and first stop off ay Haybes in the
Ardennes by the river Meuse.
