We needed to work off some cheese and baguettes so a walk was in order. End the end of the road of the campsite was a footpath that led up to the village of Villar-d’Arêne. We has passed it in the van on the way down but the path takes you along the river Romanche up through the shaded woods then along the path overlooking the torrent of the Romanche just before you get to this quiet village.
