We left Brighton Caravan Club site on a gorgeous sunny
morning, heading for Tim and
Linda’s. This turned out to be The most
nerve wracking journey in all out motorhoming history

Up the A23/M23 no problem ..through Westerham and Horsey
Hill, gorgeous places, the sun shining. Then off of Horsey Common Road into
Horsey Common Lane ..BIG MISTAKE! And I will be having words with the sat nav
later.

This was the narrowest lane to drive down even in a small
car let alone 7.5 metres of motorhome. And
it seemed to get narrower as we continued but there was no chance of turning
back or reversing. All we could do was hope it didn’t get any narrower ..the
overhangs of trees was my main concern as these would have stopped us in our
tracks. Then there was the huge holes to
the side that could have pulled us over.
Steadily we crept along to eventually came out the other end with a
slightly raised heart rate. Stopped at
the junction for a breather and on to finish the journey along a slightly wider
Puddleduck Lane and into Tim and Linda’s, where we was welcomed with a spread
of nibbles and beverages.

The departure from Tim and Linda’s wasn’t much better as
with all the wet leaves on the road we couldn’t get up the hill so after
several attempts we went in the opposite direction, and downhill. Other than that, a good journey home.
