From Interlaken East railway station we caught the train up to Grindelwald, 1034m. Then a short walk to the cable car gondola up to Grindelwald First where we did the cliff walk, 2168m. This consists of a wire rope structure suspended to the edge of the rock face and a observation platform that sticks out complete with a glass floor to give you that real poop ya pants moment.
The journey down was a little eventful as the train broke down and we had to switch trains halfway on the decent. Something a little unnerving about be told to get of a train carriage on mass in a German accent and then waiting on the platform …more so the ones with the suitcases I imagine.
