We woke this morning to sunshine behind the mountains and a heavy covering of dew. Once everything had dried out a little, we jumped on the bikes and rode into town for a look around the shops, followed by a coffee and a beer.
From there, we cycled to the foot of Alpe d’Huez, where we attempted to ride up the famous climb. It didn’t take long for the mountain to remind us who was boss! So we’ll leave that for another day.
On the way back, we stopped at the shop for the potatoes we’d forgotten yesterday, then enjoyed a lovely ride alongside the river—making it back just before the heavens opened 🌧️. Probably the first rain we have seen for weeks.
