Today we set off to climb to what they call Surf Rock. It’s s rock at about 1200m that juts out like a diving board.
Well we failed, despite getting very close.
There is no set route so we found it hard, unitially to even locate, and when we got close, too sheer a climb to manage.
We even met a young Moroccan couple climbing, her in full Moroccan dress, climbing it, and for a while we climbed with them.
Eventually we threw in the towel, and came back down. Very disappointed, frustrated and hot.
To make it worse we heard the young Moroccan couple shouting at us from above. They had made it. Good for them.
Beer and Gin & tonic when we got back, to ease the pain of our failed attempt. Followed by dinner in the town in a nice little place overlooking the busy street below.
Maybe we will have another go tomorrow.
