1 Night
The military stopped by again last night, photographed our passports and the licence plate of Priscilla, followed by the gentleman for 20 Dirhams (£1.60) for our nights stay.
This morning started overcast and raining—temperatures around 16C at 9am.
This was a great spot, and we may be back.
When you arrive somewhere new, you have a sense of uncertainty. Are we allowed to park for the night? Is it safe, is it level enough so we don’t roll out of bed, and the water drains ok.
And then you leave, rarely leaving disappointed. In fact, you leave with an understanding of the place, even though it was your home for only two nights. Some stand out above others as a special place you will remember for years to come, and this was one of those places.
Our drive today was just 50 miles or an hour down a new road into the town of Tarfaya. You pass nothing on the way, it’s just a road through the desert on the edge of the Atlantic coast. Tarmac and sand, that’s it.
For that reason, our journey south will end here. We will spend the night parked up next to overland vehicles, campers, right by the sea, opposite the Fortress Casa Del Mar. Approximately 60 miles out at sea is Fuerteventura.
