1 Night

Schonberg, Belgium

Pretty good night on a rough bit of ground, come compound, by the Eura Mobil factory, and nice and easy for our tour this morning.  Five minutes’ walk, and we were in the reception of the showroom, with six other couples.  A mix of nationalities, German, Luxembourg and Swiss, but they could all understand German, so our tour guide very kindly translated bits to us in English.

We began at the start of their process, when they take delivery of a van chassis, either a Mercedes or a Fiat.  We then followed the line through all the steps to a finished vehicle.  We saw several Xturas in various stages of their build, which was particularly interesting, and it was also rather odd to see our van standing there, rather undressed from its sides and roof.

After the excellent tour, which took about 2,5 hrs, we went back to their showroom for coffee and a chat, any questions session. I also got the opportunity to see the layout of the underfloor heating pipes, which, maybe sadly, was of particular interest to me 😉

Our tour ended, and we strolled back to our very own Priscilla and set off on our way. Out of Germany and into Belgium for tonight’s stopover in the town of Schoenberg, which we know very little about but is rather nice, just over the German border, set in woodlands. We are parked opposite a rather lovely church.  The weather is not so lovely, as it is raining and cold.
