So off on my morning walk while Jo got ready. I thought I would pop round to see Carlos the Spanish Morooco ferry ticket seller to see how the new DFDS deal was affecting him.
He would be charging around £230 for a return with 2 people and we paid £113 with the new DFDS promotion.
It did look quiet, with a couple of vans parked outside and a German couple inside, so maybe he is just riding out this new competition to see how it goes.
I then thought I go over to the Mercedes showroom but was attacked by a dog so turned back. The last thing I wanted was to get a dog bite, and it was getting a bit close for my liking.
Breakfast done, and we were ready to go to the massive Carrefour to stock up on *bits before we left (*alcohol).
A slight delay as we started chatting to our Brit neighbours who were in a old rusty patched up converted ex police riot van. They were leaving for Morocco tomorrow morning. Most of the people here are either leaving to go, or have just returned.
Our neighbours in the riot van were full timers. We did the usual exchange of places to go, where we had been etc. They told us about the leaks they had in the van in the roof and the windscreen and the fact they didn’t bother with an MOT as no one ever asked for it.
We bid them a bon voyage for tomorrow with a comment that we would see them again, because that’s what it’s like. You chat to or see someone then days or weeks later you are at the same spot, miles travelled in between.
The Carrefour was one of the biggest. From huge TVs to toilet rolls it was all here. We bought things that we knew would be more difficult or more expensive to get in Morocco, and generally you can get anything there but without going on too much about it, alcholol needs some finding and more so during ramadan.
So with our shopping trolly looking like a mobile off licence topped off with 96 Weetabix, we headed out of the Carrefour car park and across several other shop car parks to make our way over to Priscilla so we could unload and carefully distribute the weight of our wares.
And as for the weather and storm clouds that follow us. It remained mostly dry with some good sun and warmth and the forecast for tomorrow is good.
