2 Nights
Our first outing with Priscilla took us from home to a favourite and familiar place, Aldeburgh, where we stayed for two nights. We parked on the gravel path leading to the marina, which is actually located in Slaughden, not Aldeburgh. There was plenty of room for us, and the town was unexpectedly quiet.
We strolled into town and had lunch at Two Magpies Bakery, savouring mushrooms on sourdough toast. After spending a couple of hours back at the van, we went back for a drink at the White Hart Inn and fish and chips from the shop across the street. We sat on a bench outside, chatting with a man who was born in Aldeburgh but moved to the United States as a child.
The following day, Saturday, we walked to Snape Maltings where we met Mark, Denise, and Sophie. We browsed the antiques and various items before returning in Mark’s car for lunch at Two Magpies.
