A very cold and frosty morning. We put the heating on early to warm the van up. We had breakfast, Jo did a last bit of essential washing and we set off for our last night in Spain.
A stopover in Irun, Basque country, a very beautiful part of Spain, just a few miles from the French border. This made for a picturesque journey through the mountains, lots of tunnels and views of snow on the high mountain peaks.
Set in a retail park, this is a stopover of the future. All run by an app you download, and pay for your stay. You even have to use the app to turn on and off the fresh water supply.
We filled up with water, parked up and went to a restaurant in the retail park for lunch, which was busy with people eating, as though Friday here is go to lunch day.
Back to our quiet spot on the edge of the retail park and we’re having a doughnut and cup of tea.
