Camping Las Lomas

In an attempt to shed weight, we came away without any outside camping tables. So far we have improvised with the one inside the van and a footstep we have. This is not ideal so Jo had sourced a camping table in a Leroy Merlin (kinda Homebase in the UK), in a retail park on the outskirts of Granada. So this morning we set of on route to our next stop for 4 nights via this Homebase like shop in the retail park. We turn off the main road and approach the place and is super busy. Following the sat nav and can see this Leroy Merlin not far ahead. In a queue of ramned traffic turn into the entrance, the road dips down a bit and arggggg …we are heading for a small tunnel with a 2.9m sign!

My worse nightmare, low tunnels. I can deal with narrow or tight turns but height is not something I take a chance on so although we are a mere 2.6m I stopped with all the queued up traffic behing us. Luckily it was 2 lanes going into 1 where we stopped so we could let some traffic past before attempting the reverse into the flow of traffic.  Anyway we pulled this maneuver off and nervously made our way to a more suitable entrance down the road. As it turned out Leroy Merlin didn’t have any of the tables.
Next stop Lidl, as we forgot tea bags yesterday plus a bottle of fizz to see in the new year and on to our campsite in the mountains for four nights.
This is a lovely site that overlooks the Canales Reservoir. Set among some very old and established olive trees. Nice and quiet with a quieter class of German. And ….we asked very nicely if they had a table we could use and low and behold we now have a table by the van. Just need a table cloth now.
