Up at the crack and off to get the 06:40 ferry to Calais. As it turned out, it was more like the 07:15 due to a delay for some reason but no big deal to us.
Crossing was a calm one, extortionately priced full English was devoured, perfume purchased, and before you know it your docking in Calais.
Our journey would attempt to avoid tolls and take us through Belgium, just popping back into France again at at aire in the middle of a town called Fumay in the Ardenne. All good plans and all that meant the aire by the river was blocked by some kind of Sunday market so a swift manoeuvre and turn around took us back out of Fumay to where we wasn’t sure.
We found a spot to pull over and with a consultation with Searchforsites app, we were on our way back down to Fumay and beyond a few more kms to Haybes, again right on the edge of the river meuse. great little spot for an overnight stop.
