Hereford

A short stroll into Hereford was order of the day. No buses running and the thought of wandering around the town with cycle shoes meant a walk.  Actually not that short, as it was 7 miles across fields and roads. Great walk though, following the river Wye. Thing is in a car or even cycling, you hit the edge of a town and you’re there …with walking you’re not because the extra mile or so getting into the centre of town seems to be the longest bit.
A coffee (flat white) and the biggest cheesecake ever was our reward. Bit of shop browsing and Jo bought a new pair of walking boots for walking back in, and we set off on the return trip.  This time on the road of death instead of across fields to shorten the distance, 11 miles in total. One near miss with a car and saving a sheep that got it’s self stuck in a fence and we were back in time for a foot bath and cider …this is the life.
