Stellplatz Park Camping

I was up up for a morning wee at 6am, only to notice the Alde heating control panel had gone dead.

So, rather than do my thing and then get back into bed for another hour, fault-finding came into play. I was pretty sure it was a complete power failure to the boiler, so I had to access that by taking the lounge area seat apart.

After about an hour of fiddling, I made a cup of tea and headed back to bed anyway. We still had the diesel heater working, and that would heat our water for a shower.

We got up, showered and had our breakfast. By the time we left, we were the last but one at the quarry.

Our destination today was Lindau, on the edge of Lake Constance, right by the Austrian border.

We found a spot at the Stéllplatz (parking) just outside the camping site on the lake that allowed us to use their facilities. Much cheaper than using the site but it is only a few feet from what seems to be a busy railway line and a level crossing, that bleeps as if you have left the fridge door open, every time there’s a train coming.

We got the bus to the island of Lundau Insel (island), and took a stroll around, watching people eating and drinking at the many outdoor cafes and restaurants, rather disappointing on our fasting day. We should plan these things better.

We got the bus back, all rather easy, plus it was free.

I had contacted our diesel heater fitting man about our problem this morning, and he had just replied. This prompted me to do another hard reset of Priscilla’s electronics, although I did do it this morning. But this time I left it off for longer, it did the trick. Heating all back👍

After a celebratory coffee, we thought we would make for Austria on foot, as it was only about 500m away, on a rather pleasant footpath.

The border is on the river Leiblach, which runs into the lake. We crossed the bridge, got 4 feet into Austria and walked back. Hardly enough to make any sound opinions of the country.

We walked back around the lake footpath and back to Priscilla.
