1 Night

Dungarvan

The storm eased late evening so looking good for a peaceful night. That was until we climbed into bed around 10:30 and the odd caravan parked next to us with a single young fella in had a visit from what looked like the mother of his child complete with the child in a pushchair. Then they started shouting at each other with a strong Irish accents at speed so we couldn’t understand what they where shouting but it didn’t sound good. This didn’t bother me too much as I slept through but Jo said it went on to at least 1.30am.

We woke to a completely calm day with the sun  shining and on opening the van door, we met the young girl and baby who had obviously charmed the fella and stayed the night. Jo and I sat and discussed what we do as we had planned to stay here for 2 nights. We thought we would empty the waste and move further away from the caravan and its shouty occupants then go for a walk around the town. There’s another park up just around the corner still overlooking the water so we checked it out as we walked past. Only 3 spaces and all filled. One with a yellow van that we saw pull in to our place yesterday and we thought it might go.  Would check out when we get back and perhaps move there.

Nothing to much to say about Dungarvan town. It has a castle that we walked by and never went in. Jo checked out a few charity shops. It has a huge church but lots of Irish towns seem to have a big cathedral size church. And the usual many pubs and bars.

We walked back and the yellow van was still there. The lady was in the passenger seat so we waiting to see if they were going. We sat in the sun for 20 minutes and no movement then went back to the van.

We had been back in the van for best part of an hour, reading, absorbing sun through the window when Jo notice the yellow van driving down the road by the water. Seats swivelled pronto and into driving mode we shot round and took their space.

And here we will stay the night, moving on tomorrow for what will be our final night in the Emerald isle.
