Rain this morning and still very dark at 8am. We made a meal of getting out the aire waving the ticket and the Revolut card at several areas on the pay machine. Eventually we got the combination of card waving correct and up went the barrier, jumped in the van quick and exited.
A steady and extremely windy 285 miles across some interesting scenery. Mountainous and vast expanse of rocky, sandy terrain. All 2 lane motorway and fairly quiet just over taking a lorry every now and again. Easy driving, nothing like a UK road.
I’m really am struggling with even the most simple Spanish. We stopped off for some fuel and I went in to pay. Normally I’d say (pump) number 4 or whatever. Couldn’t think what 4 was in Spanish so grunted something. Paid …said merci …left.
We arrived at our spot for the night but it looked like the aire was being renovated so we found a new one just down the road. It’s warmer now and doesn’t feel like winter.
