Lovely sunny day. Took the steamer from Glenridding over to Howtown and then took the walk around the lake back into Patterdale. We needed some cream for peppercorn sauce for dinner so ended up going back into Glenridding. Met the gent in the van next to us while I was contemplating the beers in the shop. He told us about the red squirrels he had seen on our site and and the Countrystride podcasts about walking in the lakes.
