Durham

This morning we leave Dunbar and Scotland after 24 nights. The entrance to Finchale Caravan Park is down a steep single track road until the Abbey. The Abbey is a ruin but a pretty impressive sight. I had picked a bummer of a pitch when booking as the site is on a steep slope and our pitch was on a ledge right at the top. We met a miserable site gardener who told us not to drive on his newly laid lawn. So after some clutch burning manoeuvring in reverse we got onto the pitch but we was sticking out so re-pitched to a larger spot below.  Only to find out later when the gardeners mate shouted out “I think we’ve got a rat problem” right next to where we had set up.  Later on during dinner outside we spotted a couple only few feet away eyeing up our cheese omlette.
